Jason Robert Brown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue to meet a startling array of characters, ranging from a young man who has determined that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage.

The USC Department of Theatre and Dance, with Pacific Performance Project/east, will stage a return engagement of Flight, an original play conceived and directed by USC Professor Steven Pearson with text by USC Professor Robyn Hunt. Pearson describes Flight as a theatrical poem that explores the thrill and daring of the first women aviators. The plays narrative follows two French actresses who are preparing to make a history-making flight from Paris to Moscow in 1913. The two women are also the subjects of a documentary being made by a female filmmaker as they work to prepare their plane. At a time when society considers flying a masculine endeavor and acting an unfavorable profession for a woman, will they succeed? Admission: $5 at the door
